Material Recovery Facility

In an attempt to promote circular economy where no resource is wasted, Recircle runs Material Recovery Facility in partnership with Urban Local Bodies. This infrastructure receives recyclable waste from households, institutions, organizations and other bulk waste generators to further enable its reuse and prevent it from entering landfills and oceans.

To run this facility, we work directly and indirectly with waste workers from the unorganized sector by employing some and by procuring recyclable waste from some. Our specialized team takes the onus of spreading awareness in the neighbourhood about waste segregation before it must come to the centre. All Material Recovery Facilities work in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016.

How We Work

We conduct a baseline survey to analyse the demography and geography.

Based on the survey, we get custom-built infrastructures ready depending on the quality and quantity of resources.

A specialized team educates people, institutions and different establishments about the right way to segregate waste.

The segregated waste collected at the MRF further undergoes processes before being dispatched for recycling.
